4 Stars One of the better educational DVDs for babies
This is one of the best educational DVDs out there for babies and, believe me, I’ve seen them all! YBCR exposes babies to language, both written and spoken and gets a baby interested in the written word, which can be quite a barrier to break down. It uses a multisensory approach to teaching, which should have most babies covered. My kids love this and it has gotten them reading. A similar educational DVD exists for music as well (the title of which is “Trebellina”); that one is animated by teaches babies how to read music, perfect pitch, and instrument names and sounds. Put the two DVDs together and you’re covering right and left brain training!
5 Stars 50+ words
contains about 50+ words such as body parts, animals, animal sounds, and action words. I just got it so I am not sure of the result but I can see where it will teach.
5 Stars question?
I want to try this with my soon to be 3 year old, but I want to just buy one video at a time. Do they have to be watched in order?
2 Stars Your Baby Can Read
I found that if you used all the great flashcards that are available nowadays you will be able to get good results also. The Touchy Feely Flashcards, Baby Flashcards, Animal Flashcards will help your baby to learn. Just be consistent with going over the flashcards daily. Point to the word and point to the picture. Also reading to them daily from as early as 3-4 months is the best thing for them to establish a loving, comfortable time and give them the love of reading and learning.
5 Stars Wonderful!
My twins love these videos. I started off showing them vol. 1 when they were 9 months (now they are almost 1 1/2) and they would pay attention the entire time. One day I asked where their mouth was and they both pointed to their mouths without me ever telling them where it is. I was amazed! My daughter can read a few words and I have yet to do the flashcards. I just got the second volume and the kids enjoyed it just as much as the first. Most of the time I watch the videos with them and interact with the videos to help the kids understand how to read and repeat the words. These videos are so educational and my children love them! What else could you ask for?!
