4 Stars Baby’s Box of Fun really is
My 18 month old granddaughter LOVES these books. We read them over and over. She also enjoys putting them in and pulling them out of the box. Durable and sturdy enough for little hands. Bright colors, good buy.
4 Stars Good books for the youngster.
Good book set. Some of these are geared toward a little bit older kids. Mine was only 15 months when we got these and some of them he doesn’t seem to care about, but in time I think he will love these just like he loved some of the others.
5 Stars Fabulous books!
My daughter who is 17 months old loves, loves, loves these books. she looks at them everyday. She loves lifting the flaps on the pages. Through Karen Katz books she has learned toes, ears & nose.
5 Stars Excelent books
3 excellent books. My 9 month-old likes to look at the images and the pop-up effect.
3 Stars Baby’s Box of Fun
My son’s favorite book in the set is Where Is Babies Mommy. All of them have taught him words and he loves opening the flaps. However, when I first received the book it was completely destroyed. Took a long time to sort out with Amazon. Strongly suggest the book but don’t suggest the service.

4 Stars Decent DVD - Good To Know
This dvd is a good review for the medical provider and a good overview for the layperson. I suggest every family with infants/children watch a DVD or tape like this yearly or take a class. I do know the guidelines may have changed a little bit since the DVD was made, so what I did was print out easy to follow CPR and choking directions and hung them in an easy to reach place in the kitchen for everyone - but I did make my whole family watch this and will keep it around for the future.
4 Stars useful and concise
While I wouldn’t advocate relying on a DVD to replace Red Cross CPR training, it was a perfect refresher for me (trained <5 years ago) and enough to make me feel more comfortable with babysitters after they viewed it. It gives all the necessary steps in a clear (if not a little cheesy) way and is concise enough not to bore you to tears.
1 Star Outdated info
This video has outdated information on the correct ratio for CPR. Needs to be updated!
1 Star not very good
take a class; I did after watching this video and learned much more hands on. I think any video alone won’t work at all
5 Stars Gets to the point
I thought this video was good. It gets to the point and lets you stop and rewatch things. I don’t need lenghty explanations on how and why, I just want to know how to save a life if I need to. I am buying this for myself and my children’s grandparents because I think the video is to the point enough to keep the grandparents interested in watching it all. Not too long and boring.
The Baby Whisperer Vol 1
May 5, 2009 by Raisning Kids · Leave a Comment

In this groundbreaking Video, Tracey Hogg concentrates her vast knowledge (and huge dose of common sense) into simple, accessible programs that parents can begin after the baby is born. Reassuring, down-to-earth, and often flying in the face of conventional wisdom, “The Baby Whisperer” promises parents not only a healthier, happier baby but a more relaxed and happy household as well.

2 Stars STARRING JENNIFER SAUNDERS?
Another mislabled product. The description gave the impression that this was a Saunders movie. Got it. Tossed it.
1 Star What was that about??
This video was a waste of time. I had read a little bit about The Baby Whisperer on their forum and had heard from several friends that The Baby Whisperer gave some good tips on baby body language.
The video was VERY superficial about Tracy’s key acronyms (EASY and SLOW). Tracy would start off talking about something and then would be interrupted by a very random ‘Parents Questions and Answers’ segment. The questions/answers had no sense of order or focus.
I did not learn anything from watching this video and would like my hour+ of time back from watching it!
5 Stars Baby Whisperer
If you want to sleep, this is the way to go. Bought it for the wife but both reaping the benefits.
3 Stars Good if you are a new parent
In preparation for our child’s arrival we read too many books and didn’t watch enough videos. This one and the Harvey Karp video would have saved us a few extra nights of lost sleep if we had seen them before the baby was born. If you’ve already been around babies a lot, this DVD probably won’t teach you much. I really like Hogg’s general approach and manner. That said, the script and production on this video are a bit too hokey.
3 Stars The Baby Whisperer
I thought it was too rigid and I was a little disappointed.

Laugh and Learn About Newborn Baby Care

A lot of new parents feel overwhelmed once they get home from the hospital. Most of them realize that they don’t have any idea how to take care of their newborn. This is where ‘Laugh and Learn About Newborn Baby Care’ will help you. Taught by Sheri Bayles, RN and childbirth educator, this new DVD is the only complete baby care course on the market, covering all aspects of how-to take care of your baby, from newborn to toddler and covering in detail all the baby supplies you need. Sheri Bayles shares her experiences, gives tips and strategies to avoid obstacles and explains techniques like swaddling. Best of all, in her class you get to watch and learn with real live demonstrations.

4 Stars Could have included more info
This is the second Laugh and Learn DVD I have watched. My husband and I are using the whole series in lieu of classes since we can’t find any in our area.
I thought the DVD was very well done, and it was nice that the presenter worked with real babies rather than dolls. It was a little bit distracting when the first baby cried throughout the demonstration, but I guess that’s what it’s really like! The presenter demonstrates most of the basics you need to know including the sponge bath, tub bath, hygiene, diaper changes, dressing, swaddling and even how to comb the hair. There was a very useful list of supplies at the end of the DVD so you know what you will need, and the use for each product was explained throughout the video.
The only problem I had with the DVD is that it seemed quite short, especially considering the price. I wondered if my husband and I were shown everything there is to know about baby care. I have the Breastfeeding DVD as well, but it would help if information about bottle feeding were presented. Also, instructions for burping the baby are found only on the Breastfeeding DVD, which my husband didn’t watch. It would also help to have information about how often and for how long infants should sleep, and more direction as to properly handling an infant.
On the whole I am very satisfied with the DVD, and felt that the information was presented thoroughly and in a way that was easy to follow. There has been a lot of criticism regarding Sheri Bayles’ presentation skills and desperate attempts to get a laugh, but I find her to be a very pleasant presenter who I would love to take classes with in real life. I think people read the “Laugh and Learn” title and think it’s supposed to be highly comedic and entertaining, but I think it’s just meant to suggest that you should relax and not worry too much about making mistakes. I did find myself laughing a few times, mainly because of the adorable baby “actors” in the DVD. I am happy with my purchase and glad I have this as a resource to refer back to.
2 Stars Lough and Learn About Baby Care
This DVD is not worth the money. Maybe for someone who never even held a baby, but if you have any sence of babies it is not worth the money. It is simply too short. And typical stuff is shown. I was hoping to learn from this video on what to do if a baby is crying non stop, or what to do in case the baby gets milk or food stuck in its throat . So I was not really satisfied.
3 Stars Rent or borrow instead
I am expecting my first baby in 6 weeks and I have a ton of questions on baby care! Laugh and Learn About Newborn Baby Care is not as COMPREHENSIVE as it claims. The footer on the DVD cover should say, “This Guide includes *** ONLY *** Bathing, Diaper Change, Dressing, Swaddling, and all the Supplies you will need *** ONLY FOR THE AFOREMENTIONED ***.” It’s good to watch in addition to similar DVDs but waaay overpriced for the brief content.
I do enjoy watching the intructor, Sheri Bayles. (I also have her childbirth class DVD.) She is engaging and entertaining. The format of her DVDs are recorded live classes where she is speaking directly to her students.
In comparison, I would say ABC’s of Newborn Baby Care is more comprehensive in terms of topics from choosing a pediatrician to car seat safety. However, the time spent on each topic is very brief. The script and acting is also kind of cheesy.
There are pros and cons to both DVDs. There are tips and techniques included in one that are not in the other. My suggestion is to rent or borrow instead. I got both at my local public library and I’m waiting for another DVD from Netflix, Bringing Baby Home: The Ultimate Baby Care DVD. Afterwhich, I’ll decide which DVD I will purchase to keep as reference.
3 Stars Quite Brief
This is quite a good DVD but is a bit too brief. New parents may not know what to do after watching the DVD.
3 Stars short and sweet
The video is about 40 min. For the price we paid I expected a little more.
