book is very detailed and i like it. i use it as a reference. my husband finds it dry and boring almost like college text books. he did enjoy some books written especially for men and by men.

5 Stars The Birth Partner - Indespensible Guide to L&D
Excellent on every aspect of helping with the birth process for both Mom and Dad. Provided a good visual picture of what could possibly happen, how to help and what to do if anything went wrong. Easy to understand, but not dumbed down. I am giving it as a shower gift to all expecting parents. This really helped my husband to help me through labor, delivery and meeting our baby.

5 Stars Revoew of Book
This book is well written and a must for all women who work with pregnant women.

5 Stars The Birth Partner
I am a Birth Doula and I wish all pregnant women and partners would read this wonderful book. The highlighted sections for quick reference in the previous printing were easier to locate, but you can always stick on your own tabs if necessary. Overall, an amazing book and priceless tool.

5 Stars Great book!
I thought this book was great! I bought it for my boyfriend, but when I started reading it I found it to be more informative than some of the books I had bought for myself! It’s great for whoever you choose to be your birth partner. It’s not hard to read and it’s just packed with helpful information! Ms. Simkin covers the last few weeks of the pregnancy thru the many options of birth and beyond, so there’s not a whole lot of pointers for the birth partner for dealing with the full length of the pregnancy, but it’s an great resource for actually delivering the baby and dealing with baby after the birth. There’s an amazing section on delivery positions, very helpful! Also, she includes a resource guide for further reading which is very well organized. Great book, I will recommend it to any of my friends who become pregnant.
